Galaxy Xcover 2 - Samsung

The South Korean manufacturer Samsung unveils the Galaxy Xcover 2, a 4 inch smartphone supposed to resist both water than sand or dust. If the equipment is not upscale, it is as reliable and very tough.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It includes a 4 inch screen for a definition of 480 x 800 pixels and is equipped with a dual-core ARM processor clocked at 1 GHz. It embeds a GPS, an LED flash and a battery that can stay lit for 570H, which makes it perfect for long walks or treks. It has a 5 megapixel sensor and a front camera and a storage base with 4 GB expandable via a microSD card.

Protected against the elements, the Galaxy Xcover 2 is a rugged phone that can withstand immersion thirty minutes in one meter of water. It is even possible to take pictures under water, phone and battery are watertight.

Its price and availability should be announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 25 to 28, 2013.
