The tool Mobile Chrome Apps should be released early 2014 beta. Mobile Chrome Apps has not made an official announcement but the information was spotted on Google Groups, which refers to a Github link called MobileChromeApps.

The project is based on the Apache Cordova framework that provides a set of APIs to develop hybrid applications in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. It seems that compatibility can be ensured with Android 2.2 and 2.3 is not yet known backward compatibility with iOS versions.

Applications can still benefit from the functions of the phone (APN, internal memory, USB, Bluetooth, etc..) And be run offline. Google is therefore one stone: to offer a broad dissemination of applications and eliminates the need for multiple development languages, including Objective-C for iOS or Java.

The strength of the concept, these applications can be distributed via platforms like the Apple Store or Google Play. On paper, it still seems that the applications will benefit from specific apps functions, such as notifications.
