Yahoo will encrypt all data on its Web

Yahoo will secure and encrypt all data from its Web services at the end of the first quarter of 2014, including the information passing between different data-centers.

If we know that the NSA had engaged in a mass piracy on various web services, Yahoo once again it never gave permission to be reminded. If there has been spying on the data of its users, so it was against its will. Yahoo announced the introduction of HTTPS on Yahoo Mail with a 2048 bit encryption key next January 8.

It was the first of a series that starts at the end of the first quarter of 2014. Yahoo announced that it will:

  • Encrypt all information flowing between its data centers.
  • Announces that option will be available to users, used to encrypt all their data flows to or from the Yahoo services.
  • Working with its partners in the e-mailing to make sure they all support the HTTPS protocol.

These measures are of course taken to reassure users. Still remember that in early September, we wondered about the veracity or otherwise of BullRun program used by the NSA, which would be able to decrypt the HTTPS and SSL. In a blog post, the Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer believes that everything is done to protect the best.
